What is a reference list?

A reference list is a formatted and detailed list of the sources that you refer to in your paper. It should be placed at the end of your paper and should be listed alphabetically by author(s) name and/or by title when there is no author.    

What are the parts of a reference list entry?

A reference list entry is made up of 4 elements

  • Author (WHO?)
  • Date (WHEN?)
  • Title (WHAT?)
  • Source (WHERE?)
